With an initial cross-disciplinary project, we have successfully begun our three-year collaboration with the Hochschule der Medien (HdM). In the coming months, 12 students will be intensely involved in measuring customer interactions at the point of sale.

In addition to market and technology analysis, the students will collect further practical knowledge as part of pilot testing: What routes do people walk in the car dealership? Which tracking technology works? How can the data be systematically displayed and used for other purposes? Integration of a standardized tracking solution for the car dealership of the future and the use of data as a sustainable interface in our Virtual Retail Lab are just two of the promising applications for the future.

“We look forward to working even more closely with HdM in the future. The input from the various degree programs always enriches us,” says Andreas Schwarz, Senior Manager Digital Performance at Mercedes-Benz Consulting.

After two successful projects with HdM in 2016 and 2017, we are strengthening our proven cooperation with this three-year collaboration: Every summer semester, we allocate projects with various orientations and disciplinary teams together with the degree programs in Online Media Management, Commercial Information Technology, Digital Media, and Information Design.
