Bremen / Sindelfingen: On August 16, 2019, we wrapped up a weeks-long technical training marathon for the market introduction of the new EQC 400 4MATIC – Mercedes-Benz’s first battery-powered mass-production model (electrical consumption in kWh/100 km (NEDC): 20.8–19.7; CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 0).*
Over recent weeks, about 600 technical employees, first at the Bremen plant and then in the Sindelfingen plant, seized the opportunity to prepare themselves with the details of the new electric vehicle. With an expert team of eight trainers, we assisted at the presentation and contributed to the event’s success.
*Electrical consumption was determined based on VO 692/2008/EC. Electrical consumption depends on the vehicle configuration.
“What starts in the plant – long before handover to the customer – sooner or later finds its way to the dealers’ and contract partners’ workshops. To meet exacting demands in the service department, a workshop needs experts. We are very pleased that these workshop participants could be trained into exactly such experts,” says Stefan Weber, Manager Technical Training at Mercedes-Benz Consulting.
In addition to the technical and visual features, the training participants found the test drive on the second day to be an absolute highlight. This is because a separate road test on the second training day offered employees a chance to learn and love the first purely electric EQC.
We had some great weeks of training in a unique atmosphere and look forward to meeting again with exciting new information and vehicles.
