Connect, Learn, Network together – under this motto and in the spirit of the social intranet, we spent a fantastic evening on June 17 with about 90 community managers, users and fans of the Daimler platform at our MC Center in Stuttgart.

The idea must have struck a nerve, because the event was fully booked in just four hours. We rolled out Social Intranet Night together with Digital Life@Daimler.

What was the goal of the first #SINight?

Make using the social intranet more professional – with the following three focus topics:

  • Exciting insights on the “Social Intranet Numbers”: How many users are there, for example? And what is the best (and worst) day for a post?
  • A peek behind the scenes in “The Fluffy White Mystery” best practice, the first social intranet campaign,
  • Practical hacks and tricks for greater productivity.

Naturally, the first #SINight couldn’t do without the first social intranet wall: More than 30 contributions under our hashtag ran live over the screen during the evening. We were happy that, despite perfect beach weather on a Monday evening, all 90 participants were so engaged and then took time for networking, pizza, drinks and music.

All info, the agenda and contact were accessible through a smartphone wallet pass that was downloaded 90 times. The pass also provided participants with a feedback link: We thank you for an overall grade of 4.4 out of 5, a 98% recommendation rate, and a lot of positive remarks: “A very interesting, insightful event! Let’s keep it up!”

We’re happy to grant this request, because the format definitely suited us too: “The next Social Intranet Night is already being planned – probably for the end of August at our Berlin site,” says Timo, Mercedes-Benz Consulting, who helped bring Social Intranet Night into being.

In addition to active support in further developing Daimler AG’s social intranet, we are also working on areas of expertise like Community Consulting, Social Media Strategy and Management, New Work and Mindset Shift in the digital environment.
