July 2019

As production, service and work processes become ever more digital and technological, ever larger amounts of data are being collected. However, getting insights from masses of data is becoming more difficult, because increasingly complex demands on data management and analysis processes are involved.

We at Mercedes-Benz Consulting bet on innovative processes and tools to make data intelligible, so that valuable insights can be generated and recommended actions can be derived. For this, we build on our three core competence areas: consulting, IT, and data science.

How do we proceed?

Clarify goals together

Before we dive into the world of data, we and our customers draw up a needs analysis to clarify the requirements and intended use of the final product. In the next step, we collectively define how to move ahead and which tools are needed to reach the goal.

Through our comprehensive skills and many years of project experience, we can both individually advise our customers on special challenges and offer end-to-end solutions.

Create the basics for individual requirements

The next step is creating the initial basics. As storage space, we offer our customers either flexible cloud solutions or their own server-based solutions, which we set up and maintain according to the highest data protection standards.

We can use our own IT infrastructure to implement ad hoc projects without being dependent on drawn-out procurement processes. In addition, we always use the most recent software versions and the latest technologies.

Data are the raw material of every analysis. To achieve a high-quality information base, data cleansing and analysis are the alpha and omega of our work. Therefore, we use various ETL tools (Extract, Transform, Load) as well as different cleansing methods. Our methodology’s high flexibility allows us to focus on our customers’ individual requirements.

lBlaze new trails through insights

We believe that a sustainable consulting service is one that gives our customers the ability to independently draw insights from their data.

In data analytics and process automation, we achieve this by concise and interactive data visualization that can be adapted to specific target groups. This is why we bet on state-of-the-art visualization software, such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Celonis, and many more.

In artificial intelligence, our data scientists create machine learning algorithms and work with models such as neural networks, Random Forest, XGBoost or traditional logistical regressions, which are implemented in the Python or R programming languages. Tools used in this area include IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure solutions, and Google AI technologies. With those, we enable our customers to make derivations and reach decisions based on data.
